Companion Webpage

Throughout this dissertation, I include references in footnotes to a companion webpage for this manuscript featuring an interactive map and audiovisual media relevant to the manuscript. This webpage can be found at the URL https://www.pontecorvo.work/dissertation/. The password for viewing this page is, at the time of dissertation submission, WFHB913. It is best viewed on desktop rather than on mobile devices but is mostly navigable on mobile devices as well.

Featured at this link are:

• a map I made using open-source map creation and customization platform uMap, an extension of the Open Street Map project, with layers of information that correspond to different chapters;

• an interactive floor plan diagram of WFHB’s downtown facilities with (roughly assembled and edited) visual media corresponding to some spaces;

• some of the audio described throughout the book;

• and video clips of referenced media.

While I try to describe important spaces, sounds, and visuals in static and primarily written form throughout, textual depictions have distinct limits in terms of what they can convey. Though the site is rudimentary at the time of this writing, I hope that the content found on the companion webpage helps to strengthen connections between you as reader and my experiences and thought processes.
